Primordial - To the Nameless Dead (album review 2 ...

Primordial knows who they are. As "Empire Falls" says, they are their fathers' sons. Obvious, perhaps, but the sentiment is one that Primordial feels is going unappreciated. While The Gathering Wilderness was a powerful and highly regarded album just two years ago, To the Nameless Dead seems to carry itself to a different beat. One of the other nagging issues that hurts ‘Exile Amongst the Ruins’ in a general sense is Simon O'Laoghaire’s occasionally uneven performance. I have no idea what happened here. I don’t know if he ventured a tad too far outside his comfort zone, or if there were production issues, but there are specific moments over the course of the album where things just fall apart. 18.03.2018 | 08:47. Schlicht eine Klasse für sich. Eines zu Beginn: "Exile Amongst The Ruins" ist eines der besten PRIMORDIAL-Alben überhaupt, in meinen Ohren das beste seit "To The Nameless Dead" und durchaus auf Augenhöhe mit jenem Meilenstein.

Primordial - Exile Amongst the Ruins (Metal Album Review/Reaction)

I take a look at the new Primordial album "Exile Amongst the Ruins" Primordial started out as a black metal band with some folk influences with their 1993 demo 'Dark Romanticism' and 1995 debut album 'Imrama'. With the 1998 album 'A Journey's End', Primordial underwent a strong stylistic change and delivered an album that was more original, personal and darker than anything they had done before. Siberia's Grima have returned with a new recording which continues the atmospheric style of black metal from their previous releases and this is a review of their 2019 album "Will Of The Primordial" which will be released in August by Naturmacht Productions.

To the Nameless Dead by Primordial (Album, Folk Metal ...

There’s a reason this album made several year-end lists for best metal album in 2007. To the Nameless Dead beats with the drums of thousands of years, the kind of immediate tribal instinct that makes people act out of impulse, and in Primordial’s case, they want you to fight The Man, although not the modern kind of Man. The Irish quintet that is Primordial have carved out an epic career having formed in 1987. Playing passionate metal that oozes Irish heritage and history, their ninth album and first since 2014’s excellent, Where Greater Men Have Fallen has just been released.

Although this album might be considered to be a small disappointment in an otherwise impressive discography, this is still Primordial at its core. ... The album certainly starts off on the right foot. “Nail Their Tongues” is a classic Primordial opening cut, rife with blast beats, ebbs and flows, and Averill alternating between crazed bard and demonic black metal vocals. Side note: I’ve always felt that of any band out there, Primordial should be guesting on Game of Thrones, not Mastodon.

Primordial Lovers is assured of its status as an unsung classic. All who hear it, and there aren't enough, are bewitched by its esoteric poetry, unguarded passion, and great tunes. No longer buried in the dreadful production of her Sandy Hurvitz disc, Mohawk is a wondrous creature of contrasts: simultaneously urbane and nature-loving, knowing and naïve, all-powerful yet unabashedly vulnerable ... In general i like what Primordial put out but this album is 80% weak songwriting. First Song is pretty good from the middle on. Second song is pure filler. The other tracks are average slow ass boring "atmosperic" metal. No real heights. What this album misses is a good portion of black metal or at least faster songs. I know they can do it..
